Our Story

Eddie & Margarita Cassadas
Eddie and Margarita Cassadas have shared more than twenty years of marriage — and a passion for their craft that started long before either of them ever stepped into a shop professionally. From an early age, both found themselves drawn to hair, to the confidence it gave people, and to the relationships built one appointment at a time.
Margarita attended beauty school while still in high school, earning her cosmetology license and building over 25 years of experience. Eddie's path looked different — after a back injury forced him to find a new trade, he attended barber school, though by then he had already spent years behind the chair. He's been licensed for 14 years, with a hands-on foundation school alone can't teach.
2013 — The Beginning
In 2013, they made it official. They opened their first shop out of a small back room in a local tanning salon — two stations, a wash bowl, four waiting chairs, and the two of them working literally back to back. No complaints. Just a shared drive to build something that mattered.
How the Name Was Born
That first space didn't have a front entrance of its own. To reach Eddie and Margarita, clients walked through a narrow walkway behind the building — through the alley — to the back door. It became the directions everyone knew. "Just go through the alley." Word spread, the client list grew, and the name stuck before they even realized it.
"Why don't you just call it The Alley? That's how everyone finds you anyway."
— A loyal client
And that was it.
The Growth
They outgrew that first room faster than they ever expected. The name had already built a reputation, and with it came more clients than one barber could handle alone. They found their own location, expanded to four stations and a full waiting room, and kept growing. Barbers began seeking Eddie out — wanting to learn, wanting to work alongside someone whose standards were as high as his client count. He took them on, mentored them, and held every one of them to the same level of care and precision he built his name on.
By 2016 they expanded again within the same location, growing to eight stations. Then in December of 2019, they made their final move — to their current home at 2827 W. Ramsey Street in Banning. Today, The Alley Barber & Hair Styling Studio runs eleven barber stations and a private single-station salon studio built specifically for Margarita. A vision Eddie had from day one, finally realized.

In Their Words
From the beginning, Eddie always knew that wherever the barbershop went, there would be a dedicated space for Margarita — not an afterthought, but a proper studio designed for her and her clients. That was the promise, and they kept it.
"We thank God for every blessing over this business. Being born and raised here in the Pass area, and being able to continue serving the incredible families of our community — that is something we never take for granted. It is truly a blessing, and we don't treat it any other way."
